Marshall took violin lessons for 3 years, until 2004 when he decided that he preferred banjo. He then began busking in downtown Sebastopol, which led his twin brother, David, to the mandolin. With mandolin David could enjoy performing with Marshall as a street musician.
David’s mother taught him piano for 4 years before he switched to mandolin. The brothers eventually expanded, creating a band with their friends, Jesse and Adrian.
Jesse started with the piano at age 6. He learned guitar in 2005 and developed an early love of bluegrass. He also plays clarinet and tenor sax. Together with the twins and Adrian, the boys began working with Chip Dunbar, a local musician.
drian started classical violin at the age of 4 and is the band’s fiddler. Adrian also studies piano and can play the trumpet and drums. He comes from a family of professional musicians.
